EXIT displays a dynamic visualization of a database of information about global migration and its causes. In the immersive environment of a circular projection, the installation surrounds its viewers with the repetitive motion of a globe that circles the room as it spins; with each orbit, it writes and re-writes translations of different aspects of the migration data into maps, texts and trajectories. The following organizations have provided us with data, though they have not been asked to vouch for or endorse the map content of the exhibition.
Population Shifts: Cities
Remittances: Sending Money Home
Political Refugees and Forced Migration
Rising Seas, Sinking Cities
Natural Disasters
Speechless and Deforestation
